The third book in the Ellie Avery Mom Zone series is an excellent cozy mystery read that is well written and engaging. As an Air Force wife, Ellie’s life has some very interesting challenges especially when she becomes entangled in a murder investigation. Getting Away is Deadly Plot Summary Getting Away is Deadly is a cozy mystery that offers a glimpse into the lives of military spouses. The main character is amateur sleuth Ellie Avery, who runs her own professional organizing business. Ellie has a young daughter and another child on the way. Her husband, Air Force pilot, Mitch, just returned from a Middle East deployment. Instead of the Caribbean fantasy getaway Ellie had planned for the two of them, Mitch must attend training in Washington D. C. Ellie and her best friend Abby decide to tag along and see all the sights that two pregnant ladies have the stamina to see. Ellie becomes involved in a tangle of lies and deception that includes a serious mugging, a man pushed off the Metro platform, arranged marriages for illegal immigrants and a Korean War veteran’s story.
